Cosmetic Dentistry Wellington FL

Cosmetic dentistry is generally used to refer to any dental work that improves the appearance (though not necessarily the function) of a person’s teeth, gums, and/or bite. Many dentists refer to themselves as “cosmetic dentists” regardless of their specific education, specialty, training, and experience in cosmetic dentistry Wellington FL.

Mohip Dental & Associates has cosmetic dentistry specialists on the team who can advise patients of their options. We work with the patient to develop the best-customized plan to assure that each patient receives the treatment that is right for them.

There are many options when it comes to cosmetic dentistry in Wellington FL. We will take the time to explain the procedures so the patient can make the best-informed decision before beginning any procedures.

Fields

Cosmetic Dentistry Specialities

There are only two dental specialties that predominantly focus on esthetics/cosmetic dentistry. These specialties are prosthodontics and orthodontics.

Every dentist is trained for four years in all specialties of dentistry. Cosmetic dentistry specialists continue their education for an additional three years after dental and undergraduate school. Cosmetic dentistry education includes comprehensive training in endodontics and periodontics.

Prosthodontists are highly trained in dental implants, crownsbridges, dentures, jaw disorders.

Orthodontic Specialists are primarily known for providing braces to straighten teeth in children and teens, however, they also treat conditions such as painful and misaligned bites and correct damage caused by tooth movement caused by accidents, thumb sucking, or teeth grinding. In some cases, orthodontics can even correct some types of sleep apnea.

Orthodontic specialists are trained to diagnose and treat crooked teeth, bad bites, and poorly aligned jaws. They are experts in orthodontic care for children, teens, and adults.

Materials

In the past, dental fillings and other tooth restorations were made of gold, silver, amalgam, and other metals—some of which were veneered with porcelain. Now, dental work can be made entirely of porcelain or composite materials that more closely mimic the appearance of natural tooth structure.

When it comes to having a cavity filled, it’s important to know that you have the right to decide which materials are used for your dental care.  Your dentist considers the materials to use on an individualized basis, taking into account the size and location of your cavity, as well as cosmetic considerations. Other factors include how long the filling should last, insurance coverage, and out-of-pocket costs.  Be sure to ask these questions and understand your options.

These tooth-colored materials are bonded to the underlying tooth structure with resin adhesives. Unlike silver fillings (amalgams) they are entirely free of mercury. Many dentists offer procedures to be cosmetic and because their patients prefer natural-looking teeth. Cosmetic dentistry has evolved to cover many new procedures and new dental materials are constantly introduced.
