COSMETIC DENTISTRY
Lumineers: ultra-thin, no-grind veneers.
About as thick as a contact lens. Bonded over your existing teeth with little to no enamel removal. Reversible and conservative.
VENEERS VS LUMINEERS
When you want a beautiful smile without grinding down enamel.
Traditional porcelain veneers usually require shaping a thin layer of enamel before they bond. Lumineers are thin enough to bond directly to most teeth as they are. The trade-off: Lumineers are best for teeth that already have decent shape and shade. Heavy correction still needs traditional veneers.
DETAILS
Is it the right option for you?
Ideal candidates
Teeth that are slightly stained, slightly chipped, or have small gaps. Healthy gums, no significant alignment or bite issues. We will photograph your smile and tell you straight whether Lumineers will give you the result you want.
The two visits
Visit one: we take impressions and photos, no enamel shaping. Visit two (about three weeks later): we bond your custom Lumineers in place. Most patients do not need numbing because no enamel is removed.
Reversibility
Because no enamel is shaped, Lumineers can theoretically be removed and your original teeth remain underneath. In practice, most patients keep them indefinitely (10 to 20 years) and replace individual ones if needed.
